Description

You need this licence to establish or operate an entertainment venue. An entertainment venue includes a building, room, garden or other place that is open to the public for entertainment. It does not include a shop or licensed premises.

You need to check that zoning is appropriate prior to submitting your licence application.

In reviewing your application, council will consider the following factors:

  • Does the public entertainment venue contain a sufficient number of sanitary conveniences for both sexes?
  • Can refuse generated during operation of the venue be adequately collected and disposed of?
  • Do the premises comply with the relevant environmental, health and safety standards required by law?
  • Does the intended use of the public entertainment venue comply with Council's Planning Scheme?

  • ensure that entertainment venues comply with appropriate standards of health and safety
  • protect the amenity of areas in which entertainment venues are situated
  • regulate the use of public entertainment venues, as well as the activities conducted there
