You will require this permit to establish or operate an entertainment venue. An entertainment venue is a building, room, garden or other place that is open to the public and used for their entertainment.
Your council regulates the establishment of entertainment venues to:
- ensure that entertainment venues comply with appropriate standards of health and safety
- protect the amenity of areas in which entertainment venues are situated
- regulate the use of public entertainment venues, as well as the activities conducted there.
Examples of entertainment venues include:
- ten-pin bowling centres
- sporting clubs
- fitness centres
- music or performance venues
- amusement arcades
- water parks.
