Fire Safety Advice Regarding Building and Subdivision of Land - Queensland


The Rural Operations, Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) provides this advice to ensure that any development or building, addresses the determined bushfire hazard of the area. QFRS Rural Operations will also advise the appropriate level of mitigation and infrastructure for the safety of firefighters and to redude the impacts of unwanted fire on people and property.

The Rural Operations, QFRS provides advice to individual residents, landowners and developers on how the parcels of land should be subdivided to alleviate the effects of unwanted fire.

The advice available includes advice on aspects of the requirements under State Planning Policy SPP 1/03: Mitigating the Adverse Impacts of Flood, Bushfire and Landslide.

No fees apply to individual landholders or for general advice to developers. If developers or their consultants require specialised advice or assessment, QFRS commercial rates are charged.
