The department provides this support to:
- improve the availability of high quality and appropriate water resource information for co-ordinated planning and sustainable development;
- improve the assessment of the State's water and related resources; and
- plan for the community's future water and water-related needs and to propose and assess broad options to meet those needs.
The department provides a database of information on private and investigation bores throughout the state. The database contains:
- information on the bores strata
- bore construction
- water levels
- water quality
- bore location; and
- elevation etc.
Output is available through the operational centres in either disk form or hard copy (text or plots).
