Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996 - Queensland


The Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996 provides legislative standards and controls in order to minimise the risks associated with scheduled medicines and scheduled poisons in Queensland. It prescribes controls over the manufacturing, distribution, sale, handling, storage, packaging, labelling, dispensing, prescribing, supply and use of scheduled medicines and poisons.

Compliance and appeal processes

This regulation comes under the Health Act 1937 and is subject to the compliance mechanisms referred to in that Act. Any breaches of the Regulation shall incur fines. You may make an appeal to the Magistrates Court against a penalty imposed under the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996.
