Information on Air Quality Data, Water Quality Data and Meteorological Data in Queensland - Queensland

Description

This service is provided to assist business consultants by providing information in relation to air quality data, water quality data and meteorological data for use in environmental impact studies.

The department provides information to assist in the preparation of an Environmental Impact study.  Three distinct areas are covered, ie:

  • Air quality data is available for the Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba (historic data only), Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast (historic data only), Gladstone, Mackay, Moranbah, Townsville and Mount Isa areas from the Queensland Government data (Air quality) website.
  • Water quality data covering most of Queensland is available from the Queensland Government data (Water quality) website.
  • Meteorological data is available for the Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba (historic data only), Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast (historic data only), Gladstone, Rockhampton (historic data only), Mackay, Moranbah, Bowen, Townsville and Mount Isa areas from the Queensland Government data (Meteorology) website.

The department can provide a database of representative annual hourly meteorological parameters required for the prediction of air quality using Ausplume modelling software for selected locations throughout Queensland. This database can be purchased from the department.

Fees

DSITI may charge a fee to supply data where the information sought is additional to what is available on the above websites. The Ausplume meteorological database kit costs $276.00 per site.

A list of Agency air quality publications is available from the Queensland Government Environment Land and Water website. A list of Agency water quality publications is available form the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection website.
