You will need an interim water allocation to take water supplied by a resource operations licence holder.
An interim water allocation is an entitlement to be supplied with a volumetric share of water by the operator of a water supply scheme which delivers water from infrastructure such as a dam. It is an interim authority that will remain in place until water trading is established in the area via a water resource plan and resource operations plan. An interim water allocation may or may not attach to the relevant land.
If you need to physically construct works necessary to take or interfere with water, you may need to obtain a development permit.
