You require this licence to operate a limousine service.

You require a separate limousine service licence to operate each limousine.

Eligibility requirements


Currently, you must hold an "Operator Accreditation for Limousine Services".

If you intend to drive the limousine you must hold Driver Authorisation.

Duration

This licence will remain in effect for 5 years and you may renew it for successive terms of 5 years. (However if you request it, it may be issued for a shorter period.)

Transfer process

You must transfer to a person who holds an operator accreditation for limousine services, and you must advise the transfer of the licence to the Department within 14 days using the appropriate form. You can obtain copies of the transfer form from your regional office.

When a taxi licence or limousine licence in Queensland is transferred or agreed to be transferred, you are required to pay transfer duty. Information on transfer duty can be obtained on the Office of State Revenue (OSR) website.

Application process

Due to changes to the personalised transport industry in Queensland, which were introduced on 5 September 2016, Government will not be releasing any new limousine service licences, including special purpose limousine service licences.

From September 2017, limousine service licences will continue to be renewable for periods of up to five years, continue to be transferable and able to be leased.
