Lottery key person - Queensland

Description

A lottery key person is a key employee of the organisation licensed to conduct lotteries throughout Queensland  who:

  • occupies or acts in a managerial position or carries out managerial functions in relation to the primary licensee's operations; or
  • is in a position to affect or significantly influence the operations conducted under the primary licence; or
  • for a lottery employee of a lottery operator - occupies or acts in a position designated in the lottery operator's control system as a key position.

Must Have

If you are applying for a lottery key person licence you:

  • must be 18 years and over to apply for this licence; and
  • must supply a Letter of intent of employment from a primary licensee addressed to the Executive Director, Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) stating they intend to employ you as a key employee subject to you being issued with a key person licence; and
  • agree to have your fingerprints taken - you will be contacted by OLGR during the application process to arrange a suitable time and place.

Duration

A lottery key person licence is valid for an indefinite period from the date of issue, however; it expires 1 year after notification of cessation of employment.

Application process

You must submit the following to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation:

  • Form 82: Application for liquor and gaming individual employees
  • You must provide two (2) identical colour passport-size photographs of yourself with your completed application which meet the following requirements:
  1. Photographs must not be more than six (6) months old.
  2. Photographs must be against a plain light coloured background (e.g. cream, pale blue or white).
  3. Photographs must be approximately 35mm wide x 45mm high (passport size).
  4. Photographs must display a full view of head and shoulders without any head-covering. If you wear a head-covering for religious reasons we will accept a photograph of you wearing it; however, your facial features must be clearly shown.
  5. If you normally wear glasses, you should do so in the photograph; however, tinted glasses are not acceptable.

Note: If you are sending your photographs by post you cannot send scanned copies.
