Compliance Mechanisms and Penalties
The Board may authorise an investigation on its own initiative or following a complaint of a suspected breach of the Act.
Disciplinary charges are heard by the Commercial and Consumer Tribunal. Where a charge is proven, penalties include caution or reprimand, fine or deregistration.
The Board may also institute legal proceedings in court against offences under the Act.
Review or Appeal Mechanisms
An appeal may be made to the Queensland Commercial and Administrative Tribunal against a Board decision to refuse to grant, renew, or restore registration.
