You require this registration if you want to:

a) use the title 'architect' or 'registered architect' in Queensland
b) hold yourself out to be an architect
c) use the words 'architectural services', 'architectural design services' or 'architectural design' to advertise or otherwise promote services provided by you.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements


You must have:

  • a qualification recognised by the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AADA);
  • had at least two years architectural work and practice (at least one of which must have been in Australia and one post entitlement to receive the relevant academic qualification;
  • passed the AACA Architectural practice examination.

Duration

This registration remains in effect until the end of the financial year.

Application process

You can obtain this registration by submitting to the Board a completed

  • Application for registration as an architect or
  • Application for registration pursuant to mutual recognition or
  • Application for restoration of registration.

Transfer process

This registration cannot be transferred.
