Nine core competencies required by the Boards of Examiners need to be addressed, at the level needed for the role of Under Manager. They are:

RIIBLA302A Conduct shotfiring operations in underground coal mines, OR
RIIBLA202ASupport underground shotfiring operations
You must have also:
current HLTFA301B Apply First Aid including HTLCPR201A Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
current Instrument Gas Testing Document and Statutory Gas Exam Results.
Minimum experience required to be demonstrated is at least three (3) years practical experience in and around an underground coal mine of a nature and standard acceptable to the Board of Examiners, including:
at least two (2) years in an underground coal mining activity; including
nine (9) months directly involved in coal face operations.
