Support for women in business - Queensland


The Queensland Government's Advancing Women in Business initiative supports and encourages more women to start and grow their own business, and attain positions of leadership.

Women in business can access targeted support including programs, grants, events, mentoring and education.


Free access to collaborative network for 10 women

The Queensland Government and Femeconomy are offering 10 women in business access to the Femeconomy Connection Program.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • engage and network with influencers
  • learn from media and speaking opportunities
  • raise their leadership or business profile
  • receive assistance and encouragement to overcome hurdles and achieve business and personal growth.


Eight women will be selected from regional Queensland and 2 from Brisbane/Gold Coast to participate in the program.

Nominations close midnight 28 February 2018.



Free access to the Advancing Women on Boards leadership program

The Queensland Government and the Advisory Board Centre are offering opportunities for 20 women in business and leadership to attend the Advancing Women on Boards program.

The program aims to boost women's representation in the entrepreneur community and at boardroom tables through increased leadership and board opportunities.


Successful applicants will attend a full program by the Advisory Board Centre including:

  • a comprehensive orientation program
  • attendance at a Women on Boards Essentials Masterclass
  • quarterly women in business forums
  • 12 month membership to the Advisory Board Centre Approved Advisor program
  • facilitated introductions, profile promotion and networking opportunities.
