Compliance Mechanisms and Penalties:
The Board may appoint authorised officers to investigate written complaints against registered valuers and suspected contraventions of the Act.
If, after investigation, the Board considers a valuer has engaged in professional misconduct or incompetence or negligence in the persons performance as a valuer, the Board may refer the matter to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
The Board may also admonishment or reprimand, order valuer to give an undertaking to abstain from particular conduct or impose a fine.
Fines are imposed on unregistered persons practising as valuers. The Board may institute proceedings through the Magistrates Court for offences again the Act.
Review or Appeal Mechanisms:
Appeals against decisions of the Board may be made to QCAT.
