Weapons Act 1990 - Queensland


Object or Purpose of this legislative Instrument:

To regulate or prohibit the purchase, possession, use, carrying and sale of certain weapons and articles and to prevent the misuse of weapons.

Scope of this legislative Instrument:

The Act regulates the possession and use of weapons by the general public and the business community and provides for the issue of specific licences and approvals to weapons dealers, collectors, repairers and users.

It also makes provision for court proceedings, disposal of confiscated weapons, serving of notices and penalties for offences against the Act.

The Regulation prescribes licence fees and sets out certain responsibilities of licence holders.
