Alterations and additions to licensed premises - Queensland

Description

An application is required when you propose to alter, change the layout of, or rebuild the licensed premises without any change to the licensed area description (for example, remove a wall, lengthen a bar).

Your application must be lodged and approved prior to the renovations taking place. For more information read Guideline 40: Applications to alter, rebuild, change or increase the area of licensed premises.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Exemptions

No application is required if you make cosmetic changes only to the licensed premises (e.g. installing new shelves, replacing carpet, repainting walls, replacing furniture).

All fees are indexed annually. Annual fees are payable by 31 July each year.

The OLGR credit card payment authority form can be used for credit card payments of all OLGR fees.

OLGR will not accept credit card details by fax or email, including PDF attachments. If an email is received with credit card details, it will be deleted immediately and your form will not be processed. This is in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Application process

You must submit the following to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR):

  • Form 23: Application to alter, rebuild or change the premises
  • a layout plan (scale 1:100)
  • a copy of the development application decision notice and any attached conditions issued by the local authority (local council) or a private certifier (if applicable)
  • the prescribed fee.

If approval is given, you may need to lodge the following document on completion of the works:

  • Form 26: A statement of completed works.

Applications can be lodged in person or by mail. The average processing time is 4-6 weeks.

Transfer process

This licence cannot be transferred.
