Eligibility Requirements


Before submitting your application you should have an understanding of the obligations detailed in Chapter 4 - Part 2 of the Health (Drugs & Poisons) Regulations 1996.

Duration

This permit has a variable duration, depending on the specific requirement. Your permit cannot exceed two years.

Fees

No fees are payable for this permit.

Transfer

This permit cannot be transferred.

Additional Information

If you propose to store cyanide, especially in large quantities in residential areas, you should contact the local council prior to applying for a permit. This is to establish whether any zoning restrictions apply. You will need to provide proof that zoning requirements are being or will be complied with when submitting your application.

Queensland Health will contact the Department of Natural Resources and Mines and the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection to ascertain the appropriateness of the issue of a cyanide permit if you intend to use or store cyanide at mine sites.
