Appointment as a Boat Code Agent - SA - Australian Business Licence and Information Service

Description

You will need this licence to operate a business as a boat code agent. Boat code agents are appointed by the department to:

examine vessels for signs that they have been stolen and re-birthed
issue and / or verify Hull Identification Numbers (HIN)
verify vessel details and provide a written certificate to DIT for recording on a database.

A boat code agent may fix HIN plates personally to a vessel, or employ approved boat code examiners to affix HIN plates.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

To apply for this licence, you must:

be at least 18 years of age
be a fit and proper person to hold a licence
in the case of a body corporate, each director must be a fit and proper person to hold a licence
successfully complete the agency boat code training
have a National Police Certificate.
