Description

If the handling of food occurs at a domestic premises, there are a number of special considerations involving approval and food safety that need to be considered.

Examples of home based food businesses may include:

  • bed and breakfast accommodation
  • making food at home to sell at markets.

Like other food businesses, home based food businesses must obtain Council approval, undergo Council inspections and meet all food safety standards in line with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
