Registration of Firearms - South Australia


An "Application for Permit to Acquire a Firearm" must be approved by the Firearms Branch before purchase of any firearm. The firearm must then be registered by the new owner at a Police Station. The transfer of possession from the old owner to the new owner must be witnessed by an authorised person.

To Register a Firearm you must be the holder of a current SA Firearms Licence. (forms can be obtained from your local Police Station) and 100 Points of Identification will be required.
