Companies intending to deal in second-hand motorcycles must obtain a Second-hand Vehicle Dealer (Motorcycles Only) Licence.

Eligibility requirements

A company is entitled to be licensed as a dealer if it has not been suspended or disqualified from practising or carrying on a trade, occupation or business in Australia; under official management, in receivership or in the process of being wound up. The company must engage a natural person to manage and supervise its affairs who is also a licensed dealer.

The directors must be fit and proper persons and must not have been convicted or an offence of dishonesty and not have been suspended or disqualified from practising a trade, occupation or business in Australia; within the last 5 years prior to the company's application for a licence, been a director of a company wound up for the benefit of creditors - when the company was being so wound up or within the period of 6 months preceding the commencement of the winding up.

$60 compensation fund fee.
