Wholesale Dealers Licence - South Australia


A licence to sell poisons by wholesale is required for all poisons (other than drugs of dependence).

Pharmacists who are registered under the Pharmacists Act 1991 and who sell poisons by way of wholesale dealing as part of normal professional practice at premises registered under the Pharmacists Act 1991 are exempt from licensing requirements.

The substances permitted for sale or supply are specified on the licence issued.

Eligibility requirements

Licences may be issued to an individual or a company. Wholesale dealers or manufacturers with no South Australian address do not need to be licenced unless they have representatives based in, or who visit South Australia for sales purposes.
