Accreditation for Meat Processing for Human Consumption - South Australia

Description

Any person processing meat and/or meat products, including poultry and poultry meat products, for human consumption that is intended for sale must be accredited under the Primary Produce (Food Safety Schemes) Act 2004 and the Primary Produce (Food Safety Schemes) (Meat Industry) Regulations 2006.

Processing includes slaughtering, boning and further processing, manufacturing of smallgoods, storage and transportation. Includes beef, lamb/mutton, goat, pig, poultry and other meats.

Australian Standard for the Hygienic Production and Transportation of Meat and Meat Products for Human Consumption.

Australian Standard for Hygienic Production of Poultry Meat for Human Consumption.

Guidelines for the Safe Manufacturing of Smallgoods published by Meat & Livestock Australia.
