Accreditation to Issue Certificates of Compliance for Radiation Sources and Places - Tasmania

Description

You will require accreditation if you intend to issue certificates of compliance for radiation sources and places. Accreditation will enable you to test radiation equipment to ensure it complies with the applicable standards.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

In order to be eligible for accreditation you must:

  • Be a fit and proper person;
  • Have adequate training in radiation protection matters;
  • Have relevant experience and qualifications;
  • Be licensed or registered with, or have an authority issued by, an appropriate board in Tasmania;
  • Not have been convicted of a relevant offence;
  • Not have had any licence, registration, accreditation or other authorisation relating to any dealing with a radiation source revoked;
  • Pay the prescribed fees; and
  • Submit a properly completed application form.

You must abide by any conditions placed on your certificate of accreditation.

Duration

A certificate of accreditation remains in force for a period not exceeding 3 years.
