You will require approval if you intend to use vehicles, equipment or machinery that emit levels of noise above acceptable limits in off-street areas. An off-street area is an area that is not a public street, such as:
- residential neighbourhoods
- private property
- sporting grounds
- parks and open spaces.
Your approval will require conformation with legislated restrictions that define loud vehicle, equipment, and machinery, their acceptable noise limits, and their use to certain hours of the day.
This approval may apply to items that emit loud noise such as:
- motorbikes and trikes
- car-type vehicles and outboard motors
- mobile machinery
- portable apparatus
- lawnmowers, chainsaws, and air conditioners.
