Consent to Hinder the Free Passage of Fish - Tasmania

Description

You will require this consent if you intend to impact on the free passage of fish in inland waterways.

This includes:

  • Placing or using any equipment, instrument or device likely to hinder or obstruct fish;
  • Injure a fish-pass;
  • Impair the efficiency of a fish-pass; or
  • Cut through or destroy a dam, floodgate or sluice with the intention of destroying or taking fish.

A fish-pass is an artificial structure that is built with the intention of providing fish with a means of access to parts of a waterway that may be obstructed (for example, by a man-made dam).
