There are a range of stimulus and support initiatives for businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes, but is not limited to:
- The small business energy support grant program offers one off payments of $1000 to businesses that have not been eligible for the COVID-19 electricity, water and/or sewerage wavier available from service providers from 1 April 2020.
- The business vehicle registration relief package provides small businesses with the ability to freeze their business vehicle registrations for both light and heavy vehicles for up to a maximum of 12 months. For heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes, the government will also waive fees for registration and the road component of motor tax for 12 months.
- Fisheries assistance allows for payment waivers for licence fees for the next 12 months for licence holders in numerous Tasmanian wild capture fisheries.
There is also a range of non-business related assistance available for communities, households and individuals.
