Game Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need the licence if you intend to hunt or take game. Game includes deer, wild duck, muttonbird, wallaby, brown quail or pheasant. Game licences are for recreational hunting within prescribed seasons.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • hold a current firearms licence (unless you are hunting mutton bird)
  • be aged over 14 years if a firearm will need to be used to take game
  • be willing to supply the agency with the required annual take information as requested.

Depending on your licence you may also need to:

  • have completed a Game Take Return Information Form if applying to renew licences
  • have the permission of the landowner if on private land if hunting on private land
  • have passed a Waterfowl Identification Test if applying for a licence to take wild duck.
