Guidelines for the Perioperative Care of Patients Selected for Day Care Surgery - Tasmania


You will need to comply with these guidelines if you are a medical practitioner working at a day-procedure centre or if you operate a private healthcare facility.

These guidelines are intended to assist practitioners and healthcare facilities in the perioperative care of patients presenting for Day Stay Procedures (DSP).

These guidelines outline:

  • patient selection and anaesthesia factors
  • surgical / procedural considerations
  • post-anaesthesia care and discharge arrangements
