Licence to Carry out High Risk Work - Tasmania

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to carry out high risk work. Types of work considered high risk include scaffolding work, dogging and rigging work, crane and hoist operation, reach stacking, forklift operation, and pressure equipment operation. Your licence will specify the classes of high risk work licences that you are authorised to undertake.

You may not be required to apply for this licence if you hold an equivalent licence in another jurisdiction. A licence is also not required to carry out high risk work in the course of training towards a certification, under the supervision of a person who is licensed to carry out that work, or in certain other circumstances.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • hold the relevant qualification for the class of high risk work you intend to undertake
  • provide evidence of your identity, a copy of your certification to undertake high risk work and any other information or documentation required by the Agency
  • complete the relevant form
  • pay any required fees.

You may apply in writing for an exemption from this licensing requirement if you believe you have sufficient cause.
