Managing Risks of Hazardous Chemicals in the Workplace Code of Practice - Tasmania

Description

You may be required to comply with this code if you intend to conduct a business or undertaking that involves the use of hazardous chemicals. This code applies to manufacturers, importers and suppliers of hazardous chemicals, as well as business owners who use, handle, generate or store hazardous chemicals at their workplace. It does not apply to the transportation of dangerous goods.

For the purpose of compliance with this code, a hazardous chemical is any substance, mixture or article that satisfies the criteria for a hazard class in the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) including a classification referred to in Schedule 6 of the Work Health and Safety Regulations.
