Register as a Paramedic - Tasmania


You are required to be registered if you intend to practise under the title of a paramedic in Australia, including if you work in a non-clinical role. A paramedic provides emergency care to sick or injured people outside of a hospital or care facility.

Service type


A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.


Students, medics, volunteer ambulance officers and EMTs do not need to apply for registration.

Eligibility requirements

An individual is eligible for general, non-practising or limited registration if they are:

  • qualified for registration in the relevant health profession
  • not disqualified under law from applying or from being registered
  • meet any other requirements stated in the registration standard.
