You will require this licence if you intend to deal with freshwater fish. Dealing with freshwater fish includes the following activities:

  • importing fish for commercial purposes
  • selling fish
  • processing or treating fish for commercial purposes
  • manufacturing or obtaining any substance from fish for commercial purposes.

Examples where this licence may be required include:

  • the aquarium industry
  • fish farms
  • private fisheries
  • commercial fisheries.
