Registration to Operate a Ride-Sourcing Vehicle - Tasmania

Description

You will require this registration if you intend to operate a ride-sourcing vehicle and offer ride-sourcing services within Tasmania. A ride-sourcing vehicle means a vehicle that is used by its registered owner and is used to offer journeys to passengers who:

  • book your services by means of ride-sourcing software
  • pay for your services via electronic funds transfer that is provided as part of the ride-sourcing software.

It is strongly recommended that you contact a ride-source platform provider before commencing the application process with the Agency. The platform provider will be able to tell you if you and your vehicle are eligible to drive using their platform.

If you meet the platform providers requirements then you must apply to the Agency for an Ancillary Certificate (endorsed to allow ride-sourcing) and comply with all the conditions and requirements of the Commission's exemption.
