You will require this accreditation if you intend to install or repair Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fuel systems in motor vehicles. This accreditation exists to ensure LNG fuel systems are installed safely.
Accreditation with the Automotive Alternative Fuels Registration Board (AAFRB) allows you to carry out LNG conversions and service and repair work on motor vehicles in AAFRB registered workshops. Restricted accreditation is also available, which authorises you to perform service and repair work only on LNG fuel systems in AAFRB registered workshops. Registration allows businesses to perform conversions whilst accreditation is for individuals.
Repair work means work that involves opening the high pressure LNG lines to the atmosphere.
Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
