Highway Permit - Victoria

Description

You need this permit if you intend to conduct an event on a Victorian road. Types of events that require a permit include:

  • bike or foot road races
  • marathons
  • triathlons
  • walkathons
  • fun-runs
  • organised processions
  • parades and marches.

Permits may be issued for single or multi day events.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Your application must include:

  • a copy of your event management plan and traffic management plan
  • a clear map of the intended route
  • copies of approvals from all relevant road authorities (such as the local council and / or VicRoads)
  • a valid certificate of currency for public liability insurance for the duration of the event.
