Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals - Private Keeping of Reptiles - Victoria

Description

You will be required to comply with this code if you intend to own or keep reptiles. This code is intended to complement the requirements of individuals under legislation so that people keeping reptiles do so in a manner that meets minimum standards of animal welfare appropriate for the species concerned.

By complying with this code of practice you may be able to demonstrate that you have met your legal responsibilities. It may be a defence to a charge of animal cruelty against reptiles that you have complied with this code of practice.
