Code of Practice for Dairy Food Safety - Victoria

Description

You will be required to comply with the Code of Practice for Dairy Food Safety if you intend to produce, manufacture, sell or deliver milk or dairy foods.

It is illegal to sell, deliver or provide for human consumption any dairy food which has not been treated and packed and sealed as required under this code of practice.

In addition, as the holder of a dairy industry licence, the Agency requires you to have an approved food safety program that sets out strategies for complying with this code of practice.

You have a legal responsibility to ensure that any dairy food you manufacture or supply complies with relevant food standards. This code sets the minimum mandatory standards for the production, manufacture, storage and transport of milk and dairy foods, to safeguard public health. It must be used by all dairy premises in conjunction with the Food Standards Code.

Please consult the responsible agency for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
