Australian / New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1892.5:2000 Portable Ladders - Western Australia


You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to use a portable wooden or metal ladder at your workplace.

This standard sets out requirements for the design and construction of ladders. You must ensure that any ladder you use complies with these.

This standard has two parts. The part you must comply with depends on whether your ladder is made of wood or metal. The versions you must comply with are:

  • AS / NZS 1892.1:1996 Portable Ladders - Metal; and
  • AS / NZS 1892.2-1992 Portable Ladders - Timber.
