Description

You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to use a crane, hoist, or building maintenance unit at your workplace.

The crane, hoist or unit must be maintained, inspected and operated in accordance with the written instructions of the designer or manufacturer, or where it is not practical to obtain those instructions, in accordance with this standard.

This standard provides the essential guidelines for the design, construction and testing of cranes, hoists and winches.
