Australian Standard AS 2187.2-2006: Explosives - Storage and Use - Use of Explosives - Western Australia


You must comply with this standard if you intend to export, manufacture, supply or use explosives. You are prohibited from exporting or supplying explosives if they are defective according to this standard. You are required to comply with this standard if you manufacture bulk ammonium nitrate based explosives, dispose of explosives or intend to blast or create a blast plan.

The standard specifies requirements for the safe use of explosives including the mixing, testing, initiation and firing of charges. The standard also provides information on misfires as well as considerations such as ground vibration and airblast. Special topics including blasting in hot material, blasting under water and demolition by blasting are also included.
