Australian Standard AS 3785 Underground Mining - Shaft Equipment - Western Australia

Description

You will need to comply with this standard if you are the manager of an underground mine and you intend to erect a winding system for the transportation of persons, materials or rock.

You must show that the shaft conveyances, headframes, shaft conveyance guiding systems and sheaves comply with this standard. It specifies requirements for conveyances used in vertical-shaft mine-winding installations, including fixtures on the conveyance. There are four parts of the standard you must comply with (where relevant):

  • AS / NZS 3785.4-2002 Underground mining - Shaft equipment - Conveyances for vertical shafts
  • AS 3785.5-1998 Underground Mining - Shaft equipment - Headframes
  • AS 3785.6-1992 Underground Mining - Shaft equipment - Guides and rubbing ropes for conveyances
  • AS 3785.7-2006 Underground Mining - Shaft equipment - Headframes - Sheaves.
