Australian Standard AS 3891.1-2008 Air Navigation - Cables and their Supporting Structures - Marking and Safety Requirements - Western Australia

Description

You must comply with this standard if you are an electricity network operator and intend to design, construct, commission, operate, maintain and or decommission an electricity network.

This standard specifies requirements for aircraft warning markers for use on overhead cables and their supporting structures. This Standard is not intended for the marking of overhead cables for visual warnings to pilots of aircraft involved in intentional and legal low-level operations. Typical flying operations include aerial application, mustering, power line inspection, media and ballooning.

Complying with this standard is not mandatory. However, if you can show that you complied with the provisions of this standard then that will be regarded as evidence that you have met your obligation to carry out electrical work safely.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
