You may require this standard if you are an electricity network operator and intend to design, construct, commission, operate, maintain and or decommission an electricity network involving overhead wires.
This standard sets out requirements for the permanent and temporary marking of overhead cables and their supporting structures to warn pilots of low flying aircraft involved in intentional and legal low-level flying operations (for example crop dusting, ballooning, power line inspection or aerial mustering) about the presence of the cables and structure.
Complying with this standard is not mandatory. However, if you can show that you complied with the provisions of this standard then that will be regarded as evidence that you have met your obligation to carry out electrical work safely.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required by your business.
