Authorised Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competency - Western Australia

Description

You will require this certificate of competency if you intend to make or draw a survey or plan of a quarry or an underground mine.

There are two grades of certificate. Grade 1 authorises you to make or draw surveys or plans of underground mines and quarries. Grade 2 authorises you to make or draw surveys or plans of quarries only.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this certificate of competency you must:

  • be a person of good character
  • have a degree or diploma in mine surveying technology, a 3 year diploma of mine surveying, or a surveying qualification from any School of Mines, University, Institute of Technology or Technical College deemed by the Agency to be an equivalent qualification
  • have undertaken the relevant work experience to your grade of licence for 12 months (grade 2) or 24 months (grade 1)
  • participate in an interview
  • submit the required forms
  • pay any required fees.
