Building Contractor Registration - Western Australia

Description

You will require this registration if you operate a business as a builder and intend to contract with customers to provide building work. Building work is work that requires a building permit, is valued over $20 000 and is within designated areas of the state.

You may apply as a company, partnership, or individual. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to obtain this registration you must:

  • have arrangements in place to ensure that building services to be carried out will be managed and supervised in a proficient manner
  • ensure that all operators named are fit and proper persons to apply
  • have sufficient resources to meet your financial obligations
  • submit the required forms
  • pay any required fees.

If you are registering as a company or a partnership, you must nominate an individual as a supervisor who holds a building practitioner registration. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information regarding eligibility requirements.

The registration and applications fees must be paid at the time of lodging an application with the Board. If your application is unsuccessful the registration fee will automatically be refunded and posted to the address specified on the application form. The Board will write to you regarding the outcome of your application.
