Description

You will need this registration if you intend to operate a cattery or keep more than the prescribed number of cats on your premises. The prescribed number of cats differs between three or four according to your council.

Eligibility requirements

An applicant for a permit to keep 3 or more cats must:

 

  • Submit plans showing the specifications of the modules where the cats will be kept;
  • Made by an occupier of the premises in relation to those premises;
  • In a form approved by the Council; and
  • Satisfy the council that the number of cats to be kept will not be a nuisance, injurious or dangerous to health.
