Consumer Goods (Swimming and Flotation Aids) Safety Standard 2017 - Western Australia

Description

You are required to comply with this standard if you are the manufacturer or supplier of swimming and flotation aids made for children under 14 years old. Swimming and flotation aids are designed to help children gain confidence in the water, or assist them in floating. These aids may include:

  • armbands
  • attached rings
  • seats
  • swimming vests.

This mandatory standard excludes:

  • unattached flotation devices
  • flotation toys
  • flotation devices for boating and other recreational water activities
  • an article designed for therapeutic use or use by disabled persons.
