Issue of Trade Plates - Western Australia

Description

You may require trade plates if you manufacture, repair, transport or sell motor vehicles. Trade plates authorise the testing, transfer, and delivery of motor vehicles, motorcycles, caravans, trailers or agricultural machinery that are not licensed. Trade plates may be assigned and issued to:

  • Manufacturers of vehicles (including trailers and boats);
  • Dealers in vehicles (including registered used car dealers);
  • Builders of vehicles bodies;
  • Window tinters;
  • Car detailers;
  • Motor vehicle repairers; or
  • Vehicle transporters.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for trade plates you must:

  • Be registered as a business entity engaged in the manufacture, repair, dealing, selling, transporting, building, tinting or detailing of vehicles;
  • Complete the required application form; and
  • Pay any required fees.
