Licence to Distribute Gas in Western Australia - Western Australia

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to construct, alter, operate or maintain a gas distribution system in a supply area. A gas distribution system is a system of pipelines, mains and gas service pipes designed to transport gas to customers.

Your licence will specify the supply area or supply areas, or part of a supply area in which you may operate. A list of supply areas is available from the Agency website.

This licence will authorise you to:

  • construct a distribution system and transport gas through that system
  • transport gas through an existing distribution system and, where required, make alterations to that system
  • operate and maintain the system.

Please note that this licence does not authorise you to sell gas. A separate licence is required to sell gas to small use customers (those customers who use less than 1 terajoule (Tj) of gas each year). No licence is required to sell gas to customers who use more than 1 terajoule (Tj) of gas each year.
